New direct route from Pittsburgh to London Heathrow

25 July 2018
British Airways will shortly become the only airline to offer a direct flight from Pittsburgh (PIT) to London Heathrow (LHR). From April 2 2019, the airline will launch a year round four-per-weel service from the Pennsylvanian city to Heathrow.

The new route will take the number of US destinations the airline flies to London from to 26, and the number of daily flights offered by British Airways and American Airlines as part of their transatlantic joint business up to 67 per day.

The route will be operated by one of British Airways' newest aircraft, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

Sean Doyle. British Airways' Director of Network and Alliances, said: "We are extremely pleased to be adding Pittsburgh to our global network of over 250 destinations. With the roll-out of WiFi on our longhaul flights and on the ongoing investment we're making in the customer experience on the ground and in the air, we're proudto be flying the flag for high quality transatlantic travel."

The new flights will run on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with the BA0170 departing from Pittsburgh (PIT) at 21:50 and landing into London Heathrow (LHR) at 10:25 the following day.
