This month, British Airways is set to improve its range of champagnes and English sparkling wines for customers travelling in First and Club World cabins and First lounges, as part of its £4.5 billion investment across the airline over the next five years.

The airline, which serves more than two million bottles of bubbles a year, will now offer the following:

First Lounges

  • Canard-Duchene Charles V11 Champagne
  • Champagne Jeeper Brut Grande Rose

First Cabin

  • Gusbourne, English Sparkling Wine
  • Lanson Rose Champagne

Club World Cabin

  • Canard-Duchne Cuvee Leonie Brut Champagne
  • Champagne Besserat de Bellefon

Castelnau champagne will continue to be served in the airline's business class Galleries lounge, while Laurent-Perrier's Grand Siecle will also still be served in First. In Club Europe, customers will be served Caselnau champagne in quarter sized bottles.

Colin Talbot, Head of Catering at British Airways, said: "With investment well underway for our customers, we are committed to continuing to improve the variety of food and drink on offer. We blind test all our wines and these options performed incrediblywell on both the ground and in the air."

Improved food and drink represents part of the airline's ongoing incestment for customers including a £600m investment in Club World, focusing on a new restaurant style dining service and a new sleep proposition with luxurious bedding by The White Company.
